2020 HISEF (Hamilton Invitational Science and Engineering Fair) Winners at the Chandler Innovation Fair
Posted by Webmaster on 2/23/2020 8:00:00 PMThe 2nd annual Chandler Innovation Fair (CIF) was an incredible success. More than 4,000 students were represented and over 5,000 people attended. CIF featured student innovation as the cornerstone, including the Hamilton Invitational Science and Engineering Fair research and projects, student inventions, project based learning presentations, computer science projects, robotics showcases, and elementary and junior high robotics competitions in both FLL and VEX. The Junior High State VEX Robotics tournament (hosted by Willis Firebots) was held at the event, and the Firebots took home the state championship. Every CUSD school was represented alongside over 60 interactive vendors and CTE programs. The award ceremony took place on March 2 at the Chandler Center for the Arts. The award ceremony featured keynotes from Intel and Camille Casteel, as well as special awards from our community partners: Intel, Waymo, SRP, State Farm, Grand Canyon University, and the City of Chandler.
The Chandler Innovation Fair wouldn't have been the success it was without the teachers, students, families, and community support. A special thank you to everyone involved.
ALL HISEF and CIF WINNERS LISTED BELOW!

2019 HISEF (Hamilton Invitational Science and Engineering Fair) Winners at the Inaugural Chandler Innovation Fair
Posted by Webmaster on 2/25/2019The first Chandler Innovation Fair (CIF) was an incredible success. More than 3,500 students were represented at the event on February 23 at Hamilton High School, with over 5,000 people in attendance. CIF featured interactive STEM booths. Every CUSD school and most Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs were represented. CTE had a car show, computer science challenge using Microbit/Microbots, engineering boat races, culinary cooking demos, a sports medicine tape-off and quiz bowl, and a digital photography competition.
Superintendent, Camille Casteel was a keynote speaker and helped award more than 100 students for their science fair projects during the cornerstone event, the Hamilton Invitational Science and Engineering Fair.
Additionally, special awards were given to innovative projects in all event categories presented by Intel, Waymo, the City of Chandler, Grand Canyon University, Northrop Grumman, StateFarm, and SRP.
The Chandler Innovation Fair wouldn't have been the success it was without the teachers, students, families, and community support. A special thank you to everyone involved.

CUSD Shines at 2018 AzSEF (Arizona Science and Engineering Fair)
Posted by Webmaster on 4/6/2018Although Chandler Unified educates less than 4% of the students in Arizona, CUSD students took home almost half of the state’s Best of Fair Awards at the Arizona Science and Engineering Fair (AzSEF) held at the Phoenix Convention Center from March 22nd - 23rd, 2018! Best of Fair winners from the Senior High Division go on to compete at the prestigious Intel International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF), which will be held in Pittsburgh this year from May 13-18, 2018.
We are proud to announce that seven of the 15 Best of Fair projects and eight of the 17 students who won Best of Fair for the Senior Division (and are proceeding on to the international competition at ISEF) hail from Chandler Unified School District!
AzSEF is the science and engineering fair for the state of Arizona and is managed by Arizona Science Center. More than 900 school, homeschool, district, county and regional science fair first place winners from across Arizona competed this year at AzSEF for recognition, prizes and scholarships, and 272 students won awards. Notably, approximately one quarter of ALL of the Elementary and Junior Division awards in the state of Arizona, and one third of ALL of the Senior Division (high school) awards were won by Chandler Unified School District students! Outstanding job!
